Federal Tax Credit for Insulation Upgrades

 

UPDATED JANUARY 2020: The Non-Business Energy Property Tax Credits have been retroactively extended from 12/31/2017 through 12/31/2020

Tax Credit:  10% of cost up to $500 or a specific amount from $50-$300.
Expires:  December 31, 2020
Details:  Must be an existing home & your principal residence.  New construction and rentals do not apply.

The Federal Government has reinstated the Federal 25C Tax Credit Program, making it retroactively effective from January 1, 2018, and extending the program to December 31, 2020. Section 25C Tax Credit for Qualified Energy Efficiency Improvements offers a 10% tax credit worth up to $500 for homeowners on qualified energy-efficiency upgrades such as building insulation.
